Working as a limited physician under Dr. Ali’s guidance for the past year and five months has undoubtedly been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Reflecting on my journey, I recall the previous application cycle where I faced the challenge of not receiving any interview invitations, let alone matching into a residency program. This experience motivated me to adopt a new approach—gaining additional clinical experience—and I am immensely grateful for that decision.

During my interviews, the programs I spoke with were particularly interested in how I obtained my limited permit, my role in the nursing home, and my interactions with patients and the multidisciplinary team. I was eager to share the diverse experiences I gained, including managing rare and complex cases such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

Dr. Ali’s mentorship, guidance, and the letter of recommendation provided played a pivotal role in my journey. I cannot thank Dr. Ali enough for the opportunity to practice medicine under their supervision. This experience is one that I will always hold dear. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose this path without hesitation.
