Testimonials

Working as a House Physician at a nursing facility with Internal Medicine Solutions PC gave me valuable hands-on clinical experience and greatly prepared me for residency training in the United States. I cared for elderly patients with multiple chronic medical conditions, performed patient evaluations, reviewed labs and imaging, documented in EMR systems, and worked closely with attendings, nurses, and other healthcare staff to provide coordinated patient care. This experience helped me strengthen my clinical judgment, communication skills, professionalism, and ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. It also gave me important exposure to the U.S. healthcare system and improved my confidence in managing patients and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Most importantly, the experience helped bridge the gap between medical school and residency by allowing me to continue developing my clinical and patient care skills. I believe working with Internal Medicine Solutions PC played an important role in helping me become a stronger residency applicant and contributed positively to my successful residency match.

Dear Dr Ali and Team, I truly appreciated my experience working with your team as a Limited Licensed Physician at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. This role was one of the most important parts of my clinical journey and had a direct impact on my successful match into residency. Working in this setting gave me consistent hands on clinical exposure and helped me develop stronger clinical judgment, efficiency, and confidence in patient care. Dr. Ali and the entire team were extremely supportive throughout my time here, and I always felt well guided and part of a collaborative environment. My attending physician also provided strong supervision and mentorship, which greatly contributed to my success. During my residency interviews, I was specifically asked about this position, and I was able to clearly discuss my responsibilities, clinical exposure, and day to day learning experience. It became a strong talking point in my interviews and played a meaningful role in helping me stand out as a candidate. I am very thankful for the experience I gained here, which helped me significantly in my journey to residency. I have now matched into Internal Medicine at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, and I truly believe this role was an important stepping stone in reaching that goal. I would strongly encourage other physicians considering this path, as it provides valuable real world experience, strong clinical responsibility, and excellent preparation for residency training. Thank you once again for everything and for being part of my journey.
Best regards, Dr. Deoram Kajram

Working as “House Physician” with Inrernal Medicine Solutions was one of the most formative experiences in my medical journey. The role provided me with exceptional clinical exposure and hands-on medical training that significantly strengthened my skills and confidence as a future physician. Through direct patient interaction, collaboration with experienced healthcare professionals, and exposure to a wide range of clinical cases, I was able to deepen my medical knowledge and develop critical thinking in real-world settings. The mentorship and supportive learning environment helped prepare me for the challenges of residency and played an important role in helping me successfully match into residency training. I am truly grateful for the opportunities, guidance, and experience I gained during my time there. The training I received not only enhanced my clinical abilities but also reinforced my commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Highly recommend for physicians seeking strong clinical experience and professional growth. I worked on a limited permit at a large, fast-paced skilled nursing facility. After time away from medicine, I pursued this role to regain clinical proficiency and prepare for residency. The position strengthened my skills and confidence through the care of medically complex patients, and I particularly enjoyed working with nursing home residents and staff. Leadership was accessible and clinically engaged, and ongoing didactics and case discussions fostered a supportive learning environment. When I applied to residency, I was fortunate to receive multiple interview invitations and ultimately matched to my top-choice program.

How IMS Shaped My First Year in Residency

I can honestly say that working as a house physician at IMS was the best decision I made before applying for residency. The variety of patient cases I handled, coupled with direct supervision from experienced attendings, gave me a real-world foundation that I could speak to with confidence during interviews.

I wasn’t just talking about textbook knowledge; I was sharing stories of real patients and real challenges. When I started my PGY-1 year in Family Practice, I felt prepared to manage high-pressure situations and think critically under stress. I didn’t expect it to be easy, but the experience I gained through IMS gave me the tools to handle the intensity of my first year with much more ease than I anticipated.

I still look back at my time with IMS as one of the most formative parts of my journey.

Mentorship That Made the Difference: My IMS Experience

What made the house physician program at IMS so valuable wasn’t just the clinical experience—it was the mentorship. I had the opportunity to work closely with physicians who genuinely took the time to guide me, share their insights, and help me refine my skills.

The exposure to diverse specialties—especially in psychiatry, where I ultimately found my passion—helped me build a broad and solid clinical foundation, which proved essential during residency interviews. But beyond the medical training, it was the confidence that mentorship instilled in me that truly set this experience apart.

I entered residency feeling not only prepared but empowered. I was ready to contribute meaningfully to my team from day one. Even now, I continue to build on that foundation, and it shapes how I care for my patients and grow as a physician.

Gratitude and Growth: My Path Back to Residency with IMS Med Team

I had the incredible opportunity to work with the IMS Med Team as a limited permit physician last year, and I can confidently say it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my medical career.

After graduating from an international medical school in 2018 and initially matching into a prestigious family medicine residency in 2019, I faced a difficult setback when I resigned in 2020—just 11 months into residency—during the emergence of COVID-19. The years that followed were challenging, as I struggled to re-enter a program. My letters of recommendation became outdated, and I had not been clinically active for several years. After five unmatched years, I was fortunate to connect with the IMS Med Team.

From day one, the team made me feel welcomed, supported, and empowered. I was initially trained by experienced providers, and once I was ready, I was placed in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility near my home on Long Island. This thoughtful consideration spared me the burden of long commutes, which I truly appreciated.

Working in the skilled nursing setting as a limited permit physician was eye-opening. For the first time since leaving residency, I felt like a doctor again. The collaborative environment—with talented PAs, NPs, and MDs—restored my sense of purpose and allowed me to deliver meaningful patient care. I gained hands-on experience with procedures such as suturing, staple removal, and PICC line removal.

What stood out most was the unwavering support. I was always surrounded by knowledgeable providers willing to offer guidance, and we had a group chat where clinical questions and ideas were freely exchanged. As my supervisors saw my progress, they generously provided me with strong, updated letters of recommendation.

Thanks to the support and resources from the IMS Med Team, I’m proud to share that I matched into a fantastic family medicine residency program at Zucker SOM – Northwell Glen Cove Hospital. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to grow professionally and clinically in such a supportive environment.

To any physician navigating the challenging path to residency, I highly recommend the IMS Med Team. Their program offers structured guidance, hands-on experience, competitive compensation, and a dedicated team that goes above and beyond to help you succeed.

Transformative Clinical Experience with IMS Med Team

Working as a limited license physician through the IMS Med Team for the past year and five months has undoubtedly been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Reflecting on my journey, I remember the previous application cycle where I didn’t receive a single interview invitation, let alone a residency match. That experience pushed me to take a new approach—gaining additional hands-on clinical experience—and I am immensely grateful I did.

During my interviews, programs were especially interested in how I obtained my limited permit, my responsibilities in the nursing home, and the nature of my interactions with patients and the multidisciplinary team. I was proud to share the wide range of clinical experiences I gained, including managing rare and complex cases such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

The mentorship, structure, and strong letter of recommendation provided through IMS Med Team played a pivotal role in my journey. I cannot thank the team enough for the opportunity to grow and practice medicine in such a meaningful way. This experience will always hold a special place in my heart. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose this path without hesitation.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support.
